I
believe that Pen & Ink artwork is alive and doing well!
This medium has always held a special community and while it
is admired by all- it is collected by few. My business continues
to be successful from those who would collect fine, detailed
art.
I love painting as well, but can immerse myself into a pen and
ink drawing until I live within it's tiny lines. I can consume
it's detail and enjoy the result of taking a plain, white piece
of paper and bring it to life through a million tiny strokes.
Besides I honestly enjoy that not too many artist dedicate themselves
to a lifetime of drawing..makes me feel special!
To me, pen and ink will always be a viable art form for those
who would seek the heart and soul of an artist in produced line
and grace... the capturing of a moment in time with only black
and white at our disposal, the constant etching and sketching
until perfection is achieved.
After all...when we make a mistake...we have to toss it and
start over? Personally, I am grateful for the gift and will
continue to make it available as long as I can.
