Series: Rites of Spring ~ inspired by the inevitable first flowers of spring representing rebirth and renewal and nature's glorious colour. Dahlia is unique in that she was born of a dark canvas and reminescent of the story of the Black Dahlia. I often wonder about that story and what really happened. The knife work in this piece seems symbolic and spiritual. It suits her.
