This piece I feel was ideal for ' side show' as this woman is a surreal oddity, more so a question of the mind as to why she has her own room in a carnival side show. She does have a purpose! She wears an old gas mask....and with her pointy had gives off a very 'caught off guard' feeling...quite surreal as well as she as you can say is 'muse-like' and poses not a threat to anyone....just taking I guess what is of her surroundings. This piece started as a digital collage and ended up being a hand altered piece with graphite, conte and charcoal. This piece reflected a perfect uniqueness for 'Sideshow' as even though behind the mask, she is a normal looking woman yet the brown and purple toned gas mask. The rest is left to the viewer...to decipher her sublime purpose. ....just sitting as posed with the carnival music faint in the background. This has been ceated... altered from an old photo PC of a woman who seemed so stiff having her photograph taken. The photo itself had a very unusual cold feeling, so I then just elaborated on it.
