Victor Vasiliev (a.k.a. Vivas) was born in 1965 in Saint Petersburg Russia. In 1991 he graduated in Saint-Petersburg as fashion designer, and for some time he designed clothes, devoting all his free time to painting. He was taking an active part in the exhibitions and the artistic life of Saint Petersburg, and finally he became a professional artist leaving the fashion industry.
An artist is an eternal traveler, an adventurer. Dreaming about the ideal world he finds himself in unusual and unexpected places… All the charm of creative personality's existence is in revealing the secrets of beauty and disclosing their essence to the whole world.
That is why, prompted by these aspirations, Victor Vasiliev began travelling around the world taking in the culture of different natures. He started in 2001 travelling through a big part of Europe, then he went to the Caribbean and Bahamas, in 2004 he settled down in Chicago. Over 2 years he worked fruitfully in different areas. In 2005 Vasiliev became a member of Chicago artists' coalition.
Owing to his incredible energy and the artist's inner need for creation Victor Vasiliev was constantly finding new possibilities for artistic experiments widening genre diversity of his works.
When in 2006 the artist came back to Saint Petersburg, he immediately made himself known as an author of new paintings series called "Dreams about strange solitude", where he expressed his understanding of world through the prism of unique women's characters.
Victor Vasiliev is a painter, who is constantly looking for new art forms and techniques being at the same time true to the traditions of the world classics heritage. He is absolutely far away from reality and time notion in his self-consciousness, and able to create every minute looking with pure delight for adventures in art.
Victor Vasiliev took part in many international art exhibitions. His works are in private collections in America, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Russia, and many other countries.
