Nature has given the friendly ladybug a very graphic appearance—bright red wing casings and black spots. In addition to it's friendly nature, the ladybug is a boon to any garden as it consumes unwanted pests.

My stylized ladybugs were painted with watercolor. Details and background color were added with color pencils. The highlights are actually a resist created by first applying white marks with a Caran D'Ache wax oil crayon before applying the red paint.
