I started by covering a sheet of watercolor paper with a thick layer of gesso, then dragging a brush through the gesso to define paths using texture, dimension and brush stokes. Stripes reminiscent of muscles, veins and arteries were then enhanced with bright watercolor stripes. Color pencil and pen and ink finish off the final organic details.
