"I value each one of my paintings as though it were a precious stone; Cultivating each one from natural instinct. Every brush stroke brings me closer to one distinct treasure. Although, there are many "precious stones", isn't there always one, which glare is just a little bit brighter? My dream is for the world to see my treasure and behold it a natural beauty."
Besides art I love to write short stories, poems and spending quality time with my wonderful husband, beautiful kids, family and friends. I also like going bowling, skating, dancing and enjoying a good book or a movie.
Currently, I am attending college to get my degree in Liberal and Fine Arts. My desire is to become a childrens book author and illustrator. My goal is to continue my growth into the artworld and to keep building a good reputation. Also, to make my moma proud- Mattie (1948-1993) P.B.W.Y. She was a great inspiration in my life and her memory still is.
MY BIO:
Creative art has always been a natural desire in my heart. As a young child growing up in Dayton, Ohio, I recieved lots of positive feedback and accolades for my young raw "artistic" talent.
After highschool, I kept up drawing as a favorite pastime. Eventually, I planned to go to college and pursue a career as a commercial artist or fashion illustrator. Instead, I found myself doing various jobs around the city. For 15 years, I chose to set my art aside, in order to feed my family and pay the bills.
In December 2004, a month before my 33rd birthday, I decided that I could not wait any longer... I felt it was now time for me to live my dream... my passion... -Especially, since job hours were scarce and my kids were older and all in school. I decided to use what monies I had saved up and invest a portion of it into starting my career as a full-time professional self- taught artist.
My first painting was a portrait of my children titled, "Fours Company", the next, was a portrait of my son's titled, "Bubby and Me". Over that year (2005), I painted and drew over 60 artworks including figures, abstracts, landscapes, and seascapes in spiritual, inspirational, or thought- provoking scenes. I also created ad illustrations, logos and business cards for small- business clients in Ohio. And specialized in painting pastel family portraits and customizing artwork for residential clients.
Since January 2006, I have been showing and selling my original artwork online. In 2006, I also added my paintings and drawings to EbsqArt and the response has really been great! Knowing that my work is being appreciated and inspiring others makes me feel that I have accomplished what I was going after- "...to uplift, inspire and intrigue the mind through my art... one painting at a time".
Buy my art online at etsy.com, imagekind.com and more... and NOW Ebsqart!
And please remember, "When you can't find the words to say it... Speak From The ART."
