"This is my entry in the Nibblefest Art Contest, a themed art contest beginning on the 20th of each month. Please search for NFAC to see more great entries, starting at just 99¢!" This month's theme is butterflies. This pin is made from sterling silver and has been chased. Chasing is a process of using a small chisel to scribe lines and decoration into the surface of metal. The pin is forged out of square sterling silver wire that has been twisted to give it extra strength. The pin has been treated with a patina to help the scribed lines stand out. the surface of the pin has a soft satin finish that is easily maintained. It is stamped on the back with my halmark and ss for sterling silver. Unfortunately this pin is hard to photograph showing the true color. Be sure you look at the detail shots. Wouldn't this pin look nice on you?
