This pin is inspired by the memory of a picture I saw in National Geographic when I was a kid. I have since seen other pictures of that same place and I believe its name is Dead Horse Mesa. The technique used is repousse', a rare way of working that requires as much patience as skill. It starts with a flat sheet of metal which is stretched and molded with a set of punches to develop the level of detail that you see here in the finished work.
