This was the first color pencil drawing that I was a serious undertaking. Nearly all of my previous art work has been about form and space. The recent work in graphite is also about form and space but through a different filter. Now I reach out to grasp the thing I have circled all these years.
Another view of the Ashley River at Magnolia Gardens, I was intrigued by this split rail fence and the way the rough textures related to the landscape. The trees, the marshes and the water all contribute their parts to making the Low Country the picturesque area that it is.
