ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Each of my works is a journey into the realm of my imagination--a realm where my fascination with the cycles of nature and the discoveries of science come in close contact with my subconscious. Working intuitively, I often start with only a vague notion or feeling about what will emerge on the paper. Once the first few marks are down, I lose myself in the creative process, and a primordial spirit takes over and orbs, dots, pods, organic shapes, droplets and other familiar elements bubble up.

Each of my series has a distinct look, but all explore the terrain of the paper through the interaction of pigment, line, repetition, mark making and unexpected surprises.
