I intended to create this piece for the art show Spring. It started with an experimental watercolor print on wet paper. After printing I touched up the color with more watercolor. Afterwards, it wound up on canvas with seemingly randomly placed tissue paper framing the blue jay. Originally, I was going to make everything flat however, I decided I preferred the paper going off the edges and puckering up giving it a variety of textures.
