Picasso's Scarecrow

Art: Picasso's Scarecrow by Artist Tina Marie Ferguson
The piece was constructed from painted canvas attached to pieces cut from sheets of insulation board. All the pieces were attached to one larger piece with construction grade liquid nails and cut to shape. The edges were finished with colored duct tape. This was a collaborative school wide (including some moms) art project for our local fall festival's scarecrow contest. Since our school drafted me to create their yearly scarecrow, I chose to tie it to a famous artist. This is what a scarecrow would look like if Picasso created it. Picasso did not go over very well with the judges, but folks in the community still ask about that scarecrow. We think he was a hit even though he did not place in the contest.
