A few weeks ago I painted a red tail P-51 in a dog fight with an Me 109.
This painting is more up close of those brave guys who did their duty when
called upon. Below is a painting up close of the Tuskegee Airmen entitled
Mission Planning. The Tuskegee's were called the Red Tails. They were requested
by many bomber groups as escorts. Of the 445 Tuskegee pilots deployed overseas
during WW II 150 lost their lives. From 1943 - 1945 the Tuskegee Airmen flew
15,000 total flights on 1,500 missions. The song is Among My Souvenirs by Louie
Armstrong.
