I've been drawing since childhood. However, I wasn't consistent in maintaining my art since I was in aviation for 33 years flying airplanes. Since finally being out of the flying game all I do is paint.
Hence my reason for having more airplanes than other subjects. After taking hints from a few different women "Not another airplane!" I decided to branch out. I really enjoy painting people more than anything else. I'm relatively new at that.
I enjoy painting sea scapes, land scapes, animals, or looking at plain ancient white or black marble sculpture and bringing them to life with color. Then I try to put the eyes of the subject on the viewer to make the viewer relate to someone who lived long ago.
I also enjoy painting from movies. That helps me get an idea of the person's features through different angles as can be seen at AlbaPaintings.com on my home page. There you'll see my newest painting at the top and my logo toward the middle.
I have to give credit when its due. You'll see Sarah Brightman's picture on my web page. I listen to that beautiful voice as I paint. The perfection of her voice inspires me to strive for perfection in painting as she long ago achieved in singing.
Sincerely,
Roy Alba
