I was born in Virginia, raised primarily in southeastern Pennsylvania's horse country. Spent most of my childhood and teenage summers in Alabama at my grandparents. This is where my love of art began. My grandfather was an amateur watercolor artist and my biggest influence. He introduced me to many forms of art and artists. He was not a huge abstract fan but he did show me a book on the history of abstract expressionism and I love him for it. He opened my eyes to the world of art and I haven't looked back. My mentor so to speak was my art teacher in high school Mr. Purcell. He travelled during his summer breaks to coastal waters to paint lighthouses. He was amazing. He planted the seed to always pursue art whether as a career or recreation. He just told me to never give it up.
I have traveled and lived from El Paso, TX, Kaiserslautern, Germany to Cairo, Egypt and a bunch of places in between. I have seen a lot of things good and bad, beautiful and ugly, violent and peaceful most of which influences my art.
I love all forms of art and most mediums. I generally work with acrylics and archival ink but will bring other mediums into my art. Small format art is my favorite especially on ACEO's which are always a fun challenge. I like cityscapes, landscapes and seascapes but my passion is abstract which lets me release stress, anger and other such emotions. This is my world and I am happy living in it.
