I LOVE sunflowers. Their beautiful, bright, sunny faces cheer the soul! For all that, I never seemed to grow any for one reason or another. Last year I made it a priority to plant some and I was richly rewarded. I planted both sunny yellow and russet varieties and they were magnificent. I didn’t realize how much our fuzzy, winged friends would love them until I went out one day and found a party going on, on the sunflowers. Thankfully, I had gone out for the purpose of photographing the blooms, so I caught the party in full swing!
The image is a digital photograph, taken with a Canon Rebel. I found that this image was so wonderful in its natural state, that I decided to keep it that way. All those little bees, nearly swimming in sunflower pollen, amazing!
This image is available as a paper or canvas print at my Zazzle gallery.
