For the ‘Still Life with Lemon’ show, I gathered some of my favourite objects and some fruit went to my kitchen and set up a shoot backdrop. I chose a softly striped cotton as my backdrop to give a neutral, casual feel to the images. The fabric also blends with the container which the plant is growing in and serves to make it disappear. The fold creases in the un-pressed fabric give a ‘just set kitchen table’ feel.

This still life features a wheel thrown pottery vase I created some years ago, and some of my cobalt glass pieces, along with lemons of course. The striped motif on the vase and the background inspired the Stripes & Citrus title.

After choosing the digital photograph in this series that I liked best, I made use of digital tools to alter the image.

This image will be available as printed originals as well as on stationery items, posters and other products.
