This piece was done upon sunset in the fall 2005 in my backyard of Standish, Michigan. The sky was just coming turning that beautiful reddened glow.
I painted this piece with acrylics on flat canvas that I set on an easel. It was one of my favorite scenes to capture. It was a challenge for me, because I needed to take time to express the details and the negative space. Normally, I paint more opaque, geometric works. This is one of my few realist paintings.
