I am now a full time artist. Thanks to the economy and losing my job. I've been unemployed for over a year now.

Maybe it's time to finally do what I love to do full time. No more carrying a hundred pound ladder on my back. No more carrying fifty pounds of tools. Just to make a living I almost became paralyzed. After having the two bones in my neck removed and replaced with a cadavers, and having knee surgery and my disc nearly shaved away to stop the pain, maybe it's time to be the artist that I am.

I love to paint faces, portraits. Facial features really fascinate me. But expansion is my goal. In an attempt to not limit myself, from time to time my paintings will venture on many different themes.

My name is Melvin N. Hall. Born in Orlando, Florida, my family relocated to Newark and East Orange, New Jersey. Thanks to a very caring Grandmother, Gladys made sure I went to Monmouth University, in West Long Branch, NJ. During my studies, my love of painting became much more intense and gaining knowledge of different techniques inspired me to continue my true destiny.

Since those long ago days of study, I work daily to improve and create works of art that show depth and thought. I live and work in Georgia, but planning to move back to Texas with my wife and dog one day. Until that time, I will paint and paint and paint. It gives me joy and comfort to create works of art.

I love to paint and hope that my works of art are thought-provoking and inspirational. Many of my paintings are a reflection of society and history. In my attempt to paint the world through my eyes, I hope my paintings are appealing and both introspective and great conversation pieces.
