I painted this February 2012 for the EBSQ Flower of the Month: Houseplants exhibit. When I think of houseplants, I always think of my Grandma's African Violets. Actually, I believe they were my Great Grandmothers violets, passed to my Grandmother, passed to my mother. The stand was so unique and the African Violets had amazing color. My favorites were the blues with white edges... maybe because my mom's favorite color is blue. So, I painted this watercolor "Remembering Grandma's Violets" using my "Enchanted" style of background and fairy speckles.
It's painted on 300# Hot Press paper with transparent artist quality paints. It's has a small 1/8th inch white border and is signed in the lower corner.
