This new painting "Pink Magnolia Branch" is the twelfth new painting in a new series of "Modern Floral" watercolor paintings featuring soft flowing florals and nature overlaid on impressionistic geometric pattern backgrounds! It features a pink magnolia tree branch in full bloom.Painted with Daniel Smith and American Journey artist quality watercolor paints, one pigment is Daniel Smith's Blue Apatite Genuine. It is a striking mineral creating a dense, rich midnight blue that has a wonderful granulation. I've also used a bit of Red Fuchsite as described in the Dogwood Branch painting. I've included a close-up so you can see the textures of this painting. The Dogwood Branch and Pink Magnolia Branch paintings have the exact same color palette. I painted the backgrounds at the same time so they would match perfectly.
