So much is happening on Christmas eve in this charming folk art painting! Dad and the kids are bringing home the perfect tree with India the cat riding on top - she's a major show-off. Mom is greeting guests with a little one helping out. Aunt Sue and Sarah are bringing up some more firewood from the shed while skaters practice their moves (and falls) on the frozen pond under the watchful eye of two judging geese. Two little ones were sledding on the hillside by the house but it looks like Betsy, the Yellow Lab, has made off with their sled. In the background, another dog chases a bunny and a gray horse and barn cat peek out to see what all of the commotion is. A Black Lab named Rufus is over by the barn is trying to convince the snowmen to rub his belly. Looks like he's going to be successful as one of the snowmen appears to be leaning over to give him a pet. In front of the main house, another dog is decorating the dog house with the help of a tuxedo cat friend. More cats are in the windows and you'll find two more bunnies on the property. But most important in this painting are Will and Jake making snow angles as far as the eye can see. Of course, the real snow angles flying overhead just love this! They're sending down another snow shower from the heavens to assure there's enough of the white stuff for snow angels all winter long!
the original painting has sold but canvas prints are available in my Etsy shop.
