Colors and textures excite me! I love to play with color combinations in the arrangements I put together for my still life work. I am likewise always inspired by shapes found in nature. I enjoy the challenge of capturing some of the energy and characteristics of the objects I depict in my art whether abstractly or realistically. My mediums of choice are acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, and pastels.
I also enjoy capturing pieces of life with photography. Colors, shapes, and textures are always great photo subjects for me. I often recreate the photos or a portion of them in paintings and drawings, or cut them up to re-organize and collage them.
My name is Lisa Clark. I consider art my earliest passion. I have an art minor, but due to life's twists, majored in English. My early portfolios and artist tools have made every move with me over the years, yet remained too often neglected. I'm glad to have reached a point where I can finally be the artist I've always been at heart.
I teach primarily English courses at a small university, but have the opportunity to teach a beginning drawing course each summer. Art is my great escape from the stresses of life and dissertation writing.
I hope that viewers are able to connect with something in my work.
