Linda ONeill

Boulder, CO USA

Artist's Profile

Linda is formally trained as a traditional, contemporary artist. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in printmaking in 1993. Upon graduating, she worked for several years as a Digital Painter at Industrial Light + Magic, a special effects division of LucasFilm. It was there that she developed her expertise in digital art working on such films as Men in Black, Starship Troopers and on commercials for corporations such as Canada Dry and Saturn Cars. Her digital painting helped to earn ILM a Clio award for animation for the Saturn Electric Car commercial in 1997. Prior to getting her B.F.A. degree, Linda worked as a professional photographer and at one of the top Design Firms in San Francisco, Primo Angeli.

Today, Linda is best known for her Dog Portrait Paintings. She began painting dogs out of her love for her own dog, Abby whom she and her husband rescued from a local animal shelter six years ago. She has worked with the Boulder Colorado Humane Society selling prints and cards in their gift store, with local dog boutiques such as Struttin' Pup in Lafayette, Colorado and recently created a painting for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Organization which will hang in their offices in Portland, Oregon.
