Artist's Profile

I am a full time Artist working and living in Arizona. Not having a formal art education I have gained from determination, art lessons, books, and two workshops. My Kokopelli paintings contain a variety of spiritual meanings inspired from American Indian folklore , legends and proverbs. My Kokopellis are painted with acrylics. I have developed my own technique of using multi-layer of colors to reflect rendering bright, bold colors in an expressive and unique style. You can see the results of this technique with the bright bold moon and stars in my Kokopelli paintings. My subject matter ranges from figurative and portraiture to landscape and fantasy. My paintings of Apache and Navajo girls are painted with oils. I use the old masters technic of building color through many thin layers of oil paint to create a realistic composition and a feeling of emotion inspired by the American Indian dance. My paintings of Apache and Navajo girls are in private collections all over U.S. My landscapes are painted with an enormous amount of detail. I paint from referance photo's I take myself. Some of my landscapes take several months to complete with all the detail I put in my paintings. I see every leaf, flower, blade of grass and needle on a pine tree. I want to put them all in my paintings.
