This original acrylic painting shows a wall outside a bookshop and cafe in the fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorkshire. The seagull perched on the wall stood out from the rather grim background of stormy clouds. There is also a glimpse of the bay itself which I have painted many times. I liked the subtle colours in the wall and decided to use variious mixes of greys to give a rather moody and brooding feeling to the piece.
This was painted in acrylics on stretched canvas and given two coats of acrylic gloss varnish to protect the work.
It is not framed.
The sides of the canvas have been painted, so it does not necessarily need framing.
It is signed by the artist.
Please note: Depending on the setting of your monitor, the colours may appear slightly different from those of the original painting. Also you must appreciate that it is impossible to convey all the subtleties of texture, tone and hue of the original work in a digital photograph.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my work.
