Artist's Profile

My art has been primarily self taught, although I have had the good fortune to attend a few workshops given by some of my favorite artists. One of my admired teachers was Jan Kunz and another was Arne Westerman.

My medium of choice is watercolor, with a focus on portraiture and figures. I find working from photographs is the best approach for me. Photos will "hold" the subtle shadows in place.

I am also studying to work from life and to use other mediums. My most recent works include landscapes and animals and have been in acrylic paint.
