Protective clothing and equipment are essential constituents of any toolbox. For the welder the helmet protects the head and eyes not only from the intense light but also from the flying pieces of white hot metal.
I did a course in metal sculpture at Morley College in London and this painting gives a sense of the thrilling experience of welding.
The frame is welded steel and rivets which I made as part of the course. In fact the figure is me making the frame!
