Art: Muskrat Neighbors by Artist Jackie K. Hixon
This was inspired by seeing a wild muskrat on a nearby stream bank. Spotted turtles often use muskrat burrows to hibernate in. A wood frog is one that doesn't live in water & the question mark butterfly continues the brown & black theme. The weeds and plants were sketched from life at a nearby stream. A friend said it reminded him of "Wind in the Willows", but to me it looks like a greeting card idea. In any case, I hope it's not too saccharine. Included in the 2007 Cold-Blooded Creations Show in Daytona Beach, Florida.
