Minette

Art: Minette by Artist Heather Marie Craft
This latest abtracted portrait was an interesting piece to do, because the story of this woman kind of developed as I was in the process of painting. I imagine Minette sitting in a small smokey cafe in Paris, unfortunately alone. Her posture gives away her sense of boredom and her wish that someone will sit next to her and talk. Her black dress is a little faded and ill-fitting, her mouth slightly askew with lipstick applied haphazardly. You get the sense that she was once quite stunning, but now, her beauty has faded.
