This piece is part of a series I am currently working on, which features couples as the subject. But not just "figures", it focuses on the ever changing dynamic that exists between two people- love, dependence, desire, disappointment, obsession. This piece is painted rather loosely, which adds movement and emotion, and the body positions of each person- arms interlocked- speaks of stability, trust, and the promise that if one of them should falter, the other is there to keep them from falling. I particularly like the calming, creamy yellow background that adds a serene feeling. This piece is painted on a 30x30 gallery wrap canvas, and is strung and ready to hang.
