I was inspired during my walk this morning at the lake to give testimony to our resident Heron. They are majestic water birds. I have seen them in many places. The most unusual I think was at Standford University. I was walking down the sidewalk and there poised on the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street stood a Great Blue. He was intent upon catching something as it ascended from a hold in the earth. Not a muscle was moved. I nearly tripped over him and, even so, he stayed put and remained in pursuit of dinner.
