Art: Libby the Mermaid by Artist Dianne McGhee
Libby is a beautiful mermaid that loves to watch the ships sail out. She sits on the rocks combing her hair with her beautiful oyster combs and wishes them well as they sail out to sea. As they leave, she blows them a kiss for safekeeping. Introducing one-of-a-kind, stained glass, fused glass, mixed media art doll mermaids. Have you ever tried to get a mermaid to hold still to take her picture when all she wants to do is swim about the sea? She is much better looking in person than the pictures show. This sea creature is one magnificent woman. Not only does she flit about the sea, but during the day, she sits out on the rocks to sun herself. Her coppery hair just shines in the sun along with her glowing body. Each doll is created out of glass with a fused glass face. Each face is unique in the sense that no two will ever come out looking the same. She has been given beautiful dichroic eyes that just sparkle. She measures 11 inches tall and 9 inches wide. With the chain she hangs from, her total height is 13 inches. Her body is made of a colorful green glass and the lower body and tail an iridescent water colored blue that was hard to photograph. The stained glass has been jazzed up with copper accent trim. Each mermaid is finished off in decorative polka dot solder in a beautiful coppery finish. She has been sealed and polished for long life. Her hair is created out of flowing copper wire that flows with the motion of the waves. This unique mermaid doll is surely a collectors item that will be passed down from generations for years to come. Art dolls come signed and dated for added value.
