This one of a kind original mixed media piece is a collaboration with my husband and partner. His work is the sculpture and beadwork and mine is the painting and final details.
The art has been created on 1/4" deep red cedar. The moon is very thick, approximately 1.5" off the support. Hence the digital camera image.
The mixed media consists of entirely hand sculpted polymer clay and paper Mache. One exception is the face, this comes from a mold. The beadwork consists of glass beads and tubes, semiprecious stones: lemon jade, amethyst and agate - and genuine shell beads, mother of pearl.
