
(collection of the artist) As a painter, it's not surprising that one of my favorite activities is watching. I find people and the world around me endlessly fascinating. This piece tries to reflect the feeling of contentment that can come from watching to the point where you become one with the subject. It is also plays with the idea of who the watcher really is - the woman in the painting, the artist, the viewer of the painting, or all of the above. While we are watching, who is watching us?
