The hat is much like one I had at the time, late 70's, that a friend bought for me at a shop in Provincetown, MA. It was a beautiful thing, handcrafted in some kind of buckskin. It was eventually passed on to a boyfriend of another friend who fell in love with it. They did me a huge favor by storing some of my stuff during a move, including my parakeet, which unfortunately became a meal for their cat. But still, they were great people...and while I thought the hat did look awfully cute on me, it looked even cuter on him, was something he was extremely happy and proud to own, and immediately became something he was never seen without
