The Winter of 2011-2012 has been very atypical here in Western Pennsylvania. We got the bulk of our snow a few days before Halloween. So the white stuff has been pretty elusive. But we did have one Saturday that was full of ice and a bit of snow. My Pieris japonica, and indeed the bulk of my garden, was completely glazed in ice. And in a few hours, it was 60 degrees. Crazy weather, but it makes for good photographs!
