There is a certain illusive elegance to the barrage of junk mailings we receive 24/7. Of course it is obscured by the even larger barrage of ad words: SALE, BUY, NOW, PAY LATER, GIVE UP ALL YOUR DISPOSABLE INCOME,NOW!NOW!NOW! But if you take the time to see through the hype there is an almost mystical, zen like, beauty in the elements of bulk mailing. It is there I assure you, if you pause long enough to see it: I dare you!
This is a mixed media piece, done primarily in color pencil, on 140lbs watercolor paper. To bring out the beauty, I needed to enlarge the view of individual bubble wrap circles.I then worked carefully to illustrate all the colors and ambiance present in bubble wrap and postal stamps. This is the first in a series of bubble wrap pictures. After all who knew bubble wrap was so beautiful?
