The Changing Seasons of Klimt

comments ()

As I was reading a book about Gustov Klimt, I was struck by a photograph of the artist outside his studio holding his cat. According to the photograph Gustav Klimt was surrounded by beautiful if not a bit overgrown trees and gardens, cats and of course women.Yet when I looked at  His secessionist tree paintings just seems a little subtle compared to his flamboyant painting of women. For the life of me I don't know why but I thought that that was something that should be explored. Explore I did to no avail, but I did want to do a Klimt style painting with more color.

This is a 16x20" oil and gold leaf, done in the style of Gustav Klimt style of his paintings of women using a tree. It is on stretched canvas.
