Prospectus: The food we choose to eat often reflects our moods and feelings.
We use food to satisfy many needs besides that of hunger.
We eat together to bind ourselves more closely with those that share our lives.
We use food to mark births, marriages, deaths, holidays, anniversaries and
a myriad of other moments in our lives - both small and large.
Food is more than physical sustenance.
It is also spiritual and emotional sustenance.
We often see food as a thing of beauty, perhaps because it so
tightly woven into the fabric of humanity.
The Artist's Table urges artists to show us something beyond the typical food-related still life. The successful entry will illustrate a very personal still life.
you choose to include your grandmother's china, goblets from your wedding, or other personal talismen, the work
presented should exemplify something of the artist's own spirit. |
