Prospectus:
“Don’t eat the paste!” Before the advent of the glue stick, this was an admonition often heard in first grade and kindergarten classrooms everywhere. Paste was the adhesive of choice for all creative projects that required sticking things together and apparently to some kids; it was also a tasty treat. This makes it more than a little appropriate that “Childhood: A Mixed Media Show” is well… a mixed media show. For this show please use all manner of materials to tell us something about what you remember or what you think of childhood. It can be serious or sweet or silly. It can be about toys played with or games played. It can be about school and families or rites of passage and special occasions. It can be about the everyday or just the general impression you have of childhood. It’s whatever comes to you when you think of being a kid.
“Childhood: A Mixed Media Show” is for mixed media only and you may use any combination of materials that you like. An artist's statement is required with every entry. This statement should include information about what you have chosen to depict and its importance to you. Tell us about your materials, process and something about why you chose to represent your subject in the manner or media that you did. Your statement is an important element in presenting your work online and helps make your work more accessible for the viewer. If texture or other small elements may be pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. Eligible entries need to meet all points of the prospectus. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to edu@ebsqart.com.
