Liberté! Egalité! Fraternité!

The French Revolution is one of the most influential and romanticized revolutions that has ever occurred. When we think of The French Revolution, many things come to mind - ideals, injustice, The Bastille, guillotines, bread riots, Marie Antoinette, and the list goes on. In "Something Revolutionary" the entries are to be inspired by The French Revolution. Any aspect of the Revolution from the well known barricades, the little known fashion of wearing of red ribbons around the throat, to mythical saying "Let them eat cake" can be depicted. Please feel free to explore the role of women, peasants, expatriates and any other group that played a role. Politics, government, individuals, policies, places and moments in time are all ripe for exploration and interpretation and artists are encouraged to go beyond what they already know for the creation of their entry.

"Something Revolutionary" is open to all media and techniques.

As this show is drawing from a particular and complex point in time, statement is required and must clearly explain your entry. Your statement should also include details regarding your materials and process. These are important as increases understanding of your work and significantly enhances the experience for the viewer. As texture or other small elements may be pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. All points of the prospectus should be met. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to edu@ebsqart.com.
