How do we see a bowl of fruit versus say Vermeer or Brueghel or even Warhol? A contemporary still life speaks less to the bowl of fruit (although important) then to the way we see, feel, intellectualize all things. Through the collective of visual language, culture, environment, etc. a subjective persuasion or a certain color becomes in effect the way we see a bowl of fruit.
