I went back and looked again at Dan's Sculpture of Brittany.

Then I tried to imagine what it must have been like to be her while she was pregnant... What maybe did She feel?

Because she is rich beyond imagination, has little to worry about, fans that love her... She must have felt a sort of Bliss...a sort of care free feeling.

Or perhaps she was searching to fill an empty void inside of her. Of course, that is for her alone to know.

I drew this sketch after looking at the sculpture again. I just let my mind put whatever it willed on the paper.

What emerged was a young lady with too much eye make-up, reclining slightly with a cotented and slightly melancholy expression.

Perhaps a feeling of regret, fear and joy all mixed together...

Some young women rush into pregnany thinking it will make them 'whole' as individuals when in fact it probably doesn't. However, a part of them longs to hold the baby that will love them.

I drew this with just a regular drawnig pencil on water color paper. Nothing too fancy! Just wanted to catch the mood of inspiration again.
