This is the first peony in my series of watercolor flowers. I use watercolors when painting flowers because I like the delicate nature of the paint.
I tend to find inspiration from the flowers and animals that live around my own home. We have a peony that grows near the corner of our home and I've always been amazed at how stubborn it is! The poor plant has endured so many hardships - from gophers to my very fat cat sleeping on it - yet it never gives up. Year after year, it tries again!
