This a multi-layered, contemporary, representational, abstract of the Biblical Tree of Life, in Eden, and of the Cherub that guards it to keep man from coming back and eating of the fruit of the tree. My favorite artist is Chagall for his inspirational paintings, drawings and stained glass works. His dream like quality and the religious undertones of his works inspired me to explore my own spirituality. This painting just evolved this way. I did not set out to paint a biblical theme but here it is. I like the effects of the layers of Acrylic paint under and over soft pastels and watercolor pencil. I did not define the angel too much as in the Bible the Angel is blinding and brilliant and has a sword to protect the tree. This painting is framed and measures 43x31".
