Strawberry Dew was a new venture for me into more realistic style. Though I still work with impressionistic versions of art, this piece was a big step for me.

I still use my wall joint compound style texturing to the background like I do in most of my works so its still very original. This piece took a long time due to all the details put into each water drop!

As I've never really done realistic art beyond a couple of sketches over the years, I become intrigued by another artist who happens to be a living artist here. Harlan, who you can find her beautiful realistic pieces in her portfolio, really helped push myself to work up a level. After seeing her work, I wanted to touch it and hold it. Like I could pick a flower right off the canvas. I wanted to create something like that, so people could see my work and want to touch it too.
