This pen and ink portrait portrays a sullen girl/witch, because winter's depression has set in her eyes. Ellen needs spring to thaw out her thoughts/spells.

This work was inspired by the macabre with a hint of Edwardian demeanour. The dark art of Edward Gorey helped motivate the creative process for Sullen Ellen.
