Viewing art through the ages can summon inspiration and mysterious questions to a viewer's mind.

This is my rendition of the supernatural and mythological creature called the mermaid or sea siren based on numerous stories and paintings of the past.

I enjoy seeking artists' renditions on history, culture, and mysticism. My hobby, or addiction, is viewing paintings from the Medieval and Renaissance eras to the Age of Exploration. This can be seen in my EBSQ Profile and the paintings I create. I also showcase work at my local Renaissance faire.

Paintings from these time periods have provided me with the pictoral stories of many interesting characters and moments in time. The lore of mermaids, unicorns, centaurs, dragons and other mythical figures fascinate me. Even today we are presented with modern-day creatures, such as Nessie and Bigfoot. Whether these experiences are real, cultural, supernatural, and/or figurative, it is definitely a source of inspiration for artists throughout the ages...it is for me!
